Pharmaceutics is the science of drug delivery and drug targeting. The research areas of the department cover dosage forms and formulation development. The mechanism of various physiological processes that impact on delivery of drugs to specific sites of action, on their therapeutic effectiveness and development of novel polymers for drug delivery applications are covered.

The Department of Pharmaceutics is committed for excellence in research, instruction and service. The Department has 8 faculty members and received financial assistance as research projects. The output of research publications in peer reviewed journals is impressive.

Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance:  Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on skills in all areas that impact drug quality. The program is innovative and unique to offer in-depth, hands-on learning provided by full-time research faculty with academic and industrial experience. The students will gain valuable experience in pharmaceutical analytical instrumentation, documentation, GMP compliance, auditing, technical writing, quality assurance processes and procedures. Department has received financial assistance to carry out major research projects and has significant output of research publications in peer reviewed journals. GPAT qualified students are eligible for scholarship.
